UMAR HASSAN - DATA VIZ FROM THE NEWS

Umar is a recent graduate from Birmingham City University in Media and Communication, Umar discovered Tableau through a friend in 2017 and the rest was history.


GRAHAM ROGAN-HILL - A TABLEAU MAKEOVER

Graham works at Barclaycard as a Data Solutions Manager. He’s been working with Tableau for almost a year, and loves football, NFL and baseball.


CHARLIE DAFFERN - DASHBOARD ACTIONS

Charlie spent four years studying geography, with a focus on quantifying vegetation change using satellite imagery, before joining The Information Lab's Data School in October 2017. She is also an international ultimate frisbee player. 


SIMON RUNC - CONTROLLING YOUR AXES

Simon is a Visual Data Analyst at Atheon Analytics, where he humanises data for the retail sector. He started using Tableau in 2014 and was made a Tableau Community Ambassador in 2015. He attributes most of his Tableau knowledge to his engagement in this wonderful resource.

He is also vegan, loves cycling round London and has 5 rescue cats. See his dashboard here.


CAN KAYALI - THE HISTORY OF LEGO

Can is a technology consultant focused on data and analytics. He has lived in several countries before ending up in London. He enjoys pretty visualisations and good data stories.


BENEDETTA TAGLIAFERRI - THE TABLEAU FOUNDATION

Bene studied Business and Finance in Florence and Bologna. In 2015 she moved to London to develop her tech skills and became enthusiastic about data. She graduated The Information Lab data school last year and has now joined them as a permanent consultant.

ANNA NOBLE - IMPROVING DASHBOARDS WITH ITERATION

Anna is a Tableau and Alteryx consultant at The Information Lab’s Data School. 

Before discovering Tableau, Anna studied a masters in online journalism. And has been spent the past 4 years writing content for the web on travel, politics human rights, media, and most recently dataviz.

Gillian is a senior data visualisation analyst at Kurt Geiger. She also loves Dachshunds.


CHRIS HASTIE - WATERFALL CHARTS

Chris is a Tableau consultant with a passion for data visualisation and process automation. 

He also enjoys table tennis and barbecues.


HUGO WHISKARD - DRIVING ENGAGEMENT IN TABLEAU

Hugo is an analyst at Bank of Ireland. He studied agriculture originally, but is transitioning to corporate life in the big city.


STEPH KEARNS - USING POLYGONS TO MAKE A CHRISTMAS TREE

Steph joined the Data School at The Information Lab in October.

She found Tableau & Alteryx as part of a previous role in analytics, and is now loving being able to use them as part of her job every day.

Li Kim recently joined Conde Nast International as Analytics Manager and has worked in publishing for more than a decade. She has always read Vogue, GQ, World of Interiors and Wired for pleasure but now enjoys studying the magazines at her office desk too. See her demo dashboard here.


IAN BALDWIN - EMBEDDING VIDEOS WITH TIMESTAMP PARAMETERS

Data has been a part of Ian’s life since he could read the weekend’s football results and understand how a league table works. Halfway through a degree in Civil Engineering he realised that different mixes of concrete and steel weren't for him and he left last year and joined the Data School where's he's been learning Tableau since. Michael is a Research and Insight analyst at The Box Plus Network—the UK’s biggest music video network. Boxplus reach over 17.6 million monthly viewers, on channels such as: 4Music, The Box, Kerrang! Magic and Kiss.


EDUARDO CONTRERAS - INSTAGRAM FOLLOWERS

Eduardo is a data scientist at EY with a background in banking and insurance. Originally from Mexico, he enjoys travelling and is looking to visit his 33rd country soon.

Sian is a qualified paraglider pilot. She has also worked in the Republic of Georgia for a year of election monitoring, youth work and humanitarian assistance. She’s now back in London and through a brief side step into banking, is here to forge a career in business intelligence.

COLIN JARVIS - ANALYSING HOW LONG EVENTS TAKE

Colin comes from a mixed data warehousing and analytics background, and fell into data visualisation as a result of his struggles to find ways to communicate the results of his data discovery work in a compelling way. His previous visualisation experience was in Spotfire using mapping and shapefiles, but he has taken on Tableau full time since early this year. AINIZE CIDONCHA - EFFICIENT AND ELEGANT FILTERS

Ainize is a Commercial Analyst for Global during the day and Consultant for ISGlobal at night. She is passionate about analytics, decision making, data, frameworks, and having an impact through numbers. So far, she has worked in Bilbao, Utrecht, Barcelona, Chicago and London and loved each one. See her demo dashboard here.


MARK EDWARDS - MAKING SENSE OF MAPS FOR USERS

Mark is a relatively recent convert to Tableau. Without much cause to use it in work, he spent a lot of time immersed in it at home, and quickly discovered the wonderful online Tableau Community.
 
Publishing his work in Tableau Public helped him find a Tableau-related career-move and he's now the Head of Data Visualisation at CACI.


NATASHA KURAKINA - DESIGNING FOR MOBILE

Natasha moved to London two years ago to complete a Masters in Finance. After graduating, she discovered Tableau and has never gone back to finance.

Natasha likes strategy games and is a consultant analyst at the Information Lab.


JOANNA HEMINGWAY - HOW TO ACE THE TABLEAU EXAM

Joanna is a data analyst at Just Eat, and has just passed the Tableau Qualified Associate Exam with flying colours.

 


PABLO SAENZ DE TEJADA - USING DATA TO COUNTERACT BIAS

Pablo is a Spanish sociologist who moved to London in 2015 to join The Information Lab. 

Before this, he spent 8 years working as a market research quantitative consultant for clients from healthcare to IT and retail.


PINAR HOSAFCI - AUTOMATING IN DEPTH REPORTING

Pinar is a food analyst at Euromonitor and a free diver. Her favourite place for free diving is Indonesia.

Mark is a computer scientist turned data wrangler, who has previously worked in education, finance and academia. He is now co-ordinating data-driven research at IAVI, a global non-profit dedicated to HIV vaccine development.

Chris is an analytics manager at Tesco, and previously worked in Big Data at Trip advisor and in Forensic Data at EY. He runs the travel blog etrip.tips

Dama works in the comms and campaigns team for HelpAge International, a global network of civil society organisations working for the rights of older people worldwide. A European in London, she’s interested in all things #digital, #dataviz, #techforgood, #techfugees and #commisaid and is a strong advocate for the abolition of comic sans.

Nai is a data analytics specialist, with a postgrad degree from UCL. As a data analyst with The Information Lab, Nai has collaborated with clients in a variety of industries from pharmaceuticals to community support work.

Sophie Sparkes loves making data accessible. She works at Tableau on the Tableau Public team where she helps journalists, non-profits and bloggers visualise their data to tell insightful stories. She has a background in analytics and government.
